Programming Inclusion

“Transforming Communities for Inclusion – Asia Pacific”.  It is a pan Asia Pacific capacity building platform for people with psychosocial disabilities to come together, to learn the CRPD, share national sub regional experiences, conduct relevant studies and trainings, dialogue with multiple stakeholders and finally, to influence national policies in Asia and Pacific region on Inclusion.  The platform advocates for the realization of the Convention on the rights of persons with Disabilities, especially Article 19 (Living independently and being included in communities). TCI Asia Pacific is present in 21 countries, with about a dozen countries in the Asia Pacific region, being very active at the national, sub regional, regional and global levels, on the realization of all human rights for persons with psychosocial disabilities.   The flagship program will soon become an independent legal entity, having its own organizational structure. It already has its own governance structures, independent of the Bapu Trust.  The International Disability Alliance has been supporting the development of TCI since inception.
